Spanish Golf Break - Costa del Sol - A Golfers Paradise

5 Great Costa del Sol Golf Courses you must play!

Alcaidesa Golf Club - Finca Cortesin Golf Club - La Duquesa Golf Club
San Roque Golf Club - Valderrama Golf Club

There are so many excellent golf courses now along the Spanish Mediterranean coastline of Costa del Sol that it is very difficult to know which one to play.

Other than friends who have played and recommended a particular course you often don't quite know what to expect until you arrive. The courses reviewed in these Golfer Today articles were played by Roger Morton, Golfer Today's editor and a friend, in order to provide the golfer with more information should you be planning to golf in the Costa del Sol region of Spain.

Roger's visit was in the first week of October 2009 and it was quickly apparent why golfers come to play in this part of the world. The weather was simply fantastic! Hot sunny days and warm evenings where you could sit outside wearing the lightest of clothes. Far removed from the chilly climate back in the UK.

You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of these five wonderful golf courses, all within a 20 minute radius of each other, such as heathland, links, tree lined and rolling hillside. The courses varied greatly from the old established course boasting a wonderful history of golfing tournaments played, to the newest course in Spain to host a major professional tournament for the first time, to courses giving value for money and great fun to play, and all offering a very warm welcome.

Bearing in mind that the price of green fees is a major factor when deciding where to play, a link to the web page of each course is provided so that you can go direct and enquire for rates and any offers available, especially if going as a golfing party.
The courses are listed, not in any order of quality or preference.

San Roque Golf and Country Club - Finca Cortesin Golf Club - Valderrama Golf Club - Alcaidesa Golf Club - La Duquesa Golf Club

Roger stayed in Marina La Duquesa, very central for all of these courses, and all reached within a 15-minute drive. The accommodation used is also reviewed together with a web link so that a complete package can easily be arranged to stay and enjoy your golfing holiday in Costa del Sol.
